Pipe relining and repair options

What is pipe relining?

Pipe relining repairs a suitable existing pipe internally using a liner that is installed and cured inside the prepared pipe. It can reduce excavation along the pipe run. Nuflow Auckland West first assesses condition and access to establish whether relining is appropriate.

Can a pipe be repaired without digging up the whole driveway?

Sometimes. Relining may use existing access points and reduce disturbance to the surface above a suitable pipe. Some jobs still require an access opening. Inspection is needed before the extent of excavation can be confirmed.

When is replacement needed instead of relining?

Replacement or another repair may be needed if a pipe has collapsed, its alignment must change or an internal liner cannot address the defect. The recommendation should follow the camera findings and site assessment rather than assuming one method suits every problem.

How much does pipe relining cost?

Cost depends on repair length, pipe diameter, cleaning, connections, access and the condition of the affected section. Ask for a quote that explains preparation, the repair and final checks. Our team can discuss what assessment is needed before confirming the scope and price.

How long will the work take?

Timing depends on preparation, the chosen method, curing requirements and site access. The work programme and any interruption to affected drains are discussed for the actual job. A fixed completion time cannot be confirmed from symptoms alone.

What warranty comes with a relined pipe?

Ask for the warranty that applies to the proposed Nuflow system and installation. The quote and handover should explain coverage, conditions and the repaired section. Do not assume that every system or type of work carries identical warranty terms.

Blocked drains and tree roots

Why does my drain keep blocking after it has been cleared?

Clearing may remove the obstruction without repairing a crack, open joint or other defect. Roots may also return if their entry point remains. CCTV inspection after suitable cleaning can help identify why the problem recurs and whether repair should be considered.

What should I do if wastewater is overflowing?

Stop using the affected fixtures, keep people and pets away from the overflow and call our team on 027 488 1911. Explain where water is appearing and whether several fixtures are affected. After-hours attendance is available on request and must be confirmed by phone.

Do slow drains always mean the pipe is damaged?

No. A removable blockage can slow drainage without a structural defect. Recurring problems, multiple affected fixtures or earlier footage showing damage may justify further investigation. The cause needs to be established before deciding whether cleaning or repair is appropriate.

Can you help with stormwater drains as well as wastewater?

Nuflow Auckland West assesses and clears suitable stormwater and wastewater drainage. Explain whether the problem occurs mainly during rain or during normal fixture use, and identify which outdoor drains or fixtures are affected.

Does removing roots stop them coming back?

Not necessarily. Removing roots clears growth inside the drain but does not automatically repair the opening they entered through. Inspection helps identify whether the affected section needs relining or another repair to address that entry point.

Does a tree have to be removed if roots are in the drain?

Not automatically. The drainage assessment focuses on the pipe and repair options. If tree work is being considered, seek advice from an appropriate specialist separately. A tree near a drain is not proof of the cause of a particular blockage.

CCTV inspections and evidence

What does a CCTV drain inspection show?

A specialist camera shows the visible condition inside accessible pipework, including potential obstructions, root growth and defects. Visibility can be limited by water, deposits, bends or blockages. Findings should explain both what was observed and which sections could not be fully assessed.

Does the camera clear a blocked drain?

No. A camera is used for diagnosis. Cleaning or repair equipment is used separately when needed. A blocked or dirty pipe may need cleaning before the camera can provide a useful view of its condition.

Can I receive the camera footage?

Inspection footage and findings can be provided. Discuss the scope and reporting you require when booking, especially if a property manager or project team needs a particular format. Keep the footage with your property maintenance records.

Should I send previous drainage reports before booking?

Yes, if available. Previous footage, drain plans and repair records can help explain what has already been investigated. Tell our team when the problem returned after earlier cleaning or repair, and identify any known access points.
